Miss Gynn takes to the skies for Worple Primary School

Worple Primary School teacher Miss Gynn is preparing to swap the classroom for a zipwire across Twickenham Stadium, raising money to support pupils at the school.

The challenge takes place on Saturday 17 October 2026. Families, neighbours and the wider community can cheer her on by sponsoring her through the Friends of Worple PTA fundraising page, which has a target of £1,000.

A big adventure with a local purpose

Behind the challenge is Friends of Worple, the school’s parent teacher association and a registered charity dedicated to enriching the educational experience and wellbeing of every child at Worple Primary School.

The PTA says its fundraising helps provide opportunities and resources that would otherwise be beyond reach. Its support includes:

• Outdoor learning: funding half the cost of Forest School provision for all year groups.
• Confidence and communication: supporting the school’s Oracy 21 programme, helping children express their thoughts clearly.
• Everyday wellbeing: providing healthy snacks for Key Stage 2 pupils, where government funding is not available.
• More accessible school trips: subsidising visits to help keep them affordable for families.
• Places to play and discover: providing outdoor play equipment, library books, magazines and other learning resources.

Friends of Worple also brings the school community together through inclusive events such as the annual Panto, Colour Run and Elfridges. The aim is to give all children a rich and inclusive school experience.
